BOURBON MAPLE GLAZE

Looking to receive some WOWs at your upcoming holiday party? Glaze your prized ham with this boozy maple glaze and receive rave reviews from your guests.

Makes enough glaze for 1 ham

Glaze

  1. ¼ cup pure maple syrup (no substitutions)

  2. ½ cup orange marmalade

  3. ¼ cup bourbon + 2 tablespoons bourbon

  4. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  5. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  6. ½ teaspoon ground pepper

  7. ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan EXCEPT 2 tablespoons bourbon. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thick, syrupy, and reduced to one cup. Should take about 5-10 minutes. Set aside.

When ham has about 10 minutes of cooking time remaining, add final 2 tablespoons of bourbon. Brush ham with 1/3rd of glaze. Return to over for final 10 minutes. Remove ham from oven, brush entire ham with another 1/3rd of glaze. Cover ham loosely with foil and allow to rest for 10 minutes. Warm remaining glaze with 1/3rd cup of ham juices. Carve and serve ham, passing the sauce/glaze around the table. Enjoy!
