Ale-8 Bourbon Holiday Cider (makes 4 servings)
1½ cups apple cider
4 cinnamon sticks
2 apples, cut into bite sized pieces
1 orange, cut in half, then into thin wedges
6 oz Kentucky bourbon
12 oz bottle Ale-8-One (substitute ginger ale if you’re outside the distribution area)
Cranberries for garnish
Place cider in a pan on the stove with the cinnamon sticks, apples and oranges. Heat until hot. Add room temperature bourbon to a heat resistant pitcher. Add hot cider and mix. Pour cider mixture into four heat proof glasses, making sure each glass has fruit and one cinnamon stick. Top each glass with room temperature Ale-8-One. Garnish with cranberries.
Kentucky Holiday Mule (makes 1 serving)
3 oz apple cider
2 oz Kentucky bourbon
½ tsp lemon juice
2 oz cranberry ginger ale
Apple slice for garnish
Place cider, bourbon and lemon juice in a shaker. Blend well. Pour into a copper mule filled with fresh crushed ice. Add ginger ale. Stir gently. Place an apple slice on the mug rim as a garnish.
